Sparta Education Foundation Announces the Student Liaison Program
Sparta Education Foundation is pleased to welcome Courtney McKenna as liaison (pictured left) and Nicole Assaro as alternate to the SEF Student Liaison program.
The purpose of the Student Liaison program is to:
- Keep students informed about the SEF, SEF grants and the availability of grant funding.
- Increase awareness about past and present grants the SEF has funded.
- Engage students to get their input about future grants.
Encourage and get student participation in fundraising projects and volunteer efforts with the SEF.
Benefit For the students:
It will enable them to give back to the community and gain community service hours, enhance college applications/resumes, encourage responsibility, promote communication/public speaking skills, create pride in their school district, give them a voice in the grant process, and give them experience in working with a non-profit Board.
Benefit For the SEF:
It will keep board members in tune with the academic needs of the students, build a bridge between the SEF and students for the sharing of ideas, add student volunteers, gain firsthand insight about what engages students, expand student awareness of SEF at SMS and SHS
