SEF Student Internship Program

A New Opportunity for Sparta High School Students

The Sparta Education Foundation is excited to announce a new internship opportunity for two rising juniors at Sparta High School.

This internship gives selected students the opportunity to work directly with SEF Board Members and Trustees, contribute to meaningful community initiatives, and earn valuable community service hours while helping support the Sparta Public Schools.

About the Sparta Education Foundation

The Sparta Education Foundation’s mission is to raise funds that allow us to make ongoing charitable contributions that enrich the educational experience of children in the Sparta Public Schools.

To date, SEF has awarded more than $1.6 million in grants to our school district, helping bring innovative programs, resources, and opportunities to Sparta students.

Internship Focus Areas

SEF is seeking students interested in working collaboratively in one or more of the following areas:

Marketing & Event Planning
Journalism
Social Media
Communications
Community Outreach
Photography
Graphic Design
Advertising

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

Be a rising junior at Sparta High School
Be at least 16 years old at the start of the internship
Have parent or guardian permission
Demonstrate interest in community involvement and the focus areas listed above
Commit to an average of 2–4 volunteer hours per week
Attend one local monthly meeting per month from September 2026 through May 2027, typically from 7:00–8:30 PM
Be available to begin around Monday, August 3, 2026
Flexible start dates may be considered for summer vacations or other conflicts.

Recommended Interests & Skills

Ideal candidates may have interest or experience in:

Event planning and marketing
Graphic design, advertising, or social media
Writing, journalism, or communications
Photography for community events
Organization and attention to detail
Working independently and collaboratively
Representing SEF in a professional and positive manner

Students should be motivated, reliable, responsible, and willing to learn. SEF Board Members and Trustees will provide training, support, and guidance throughout the internship.

Internship Benefits

Selected interns will receive:

A minimum of 45 community service hours
Flexible scheduling around school and extracurricular activities
Hybrid volunteer opportunities, including remote work, meetings, and events
A letter of recommendation from an SEF Board Member
Resume and college application experience
Leadership experience
Mentorship from community leaders
Potential public recognition on SEF’s website and social media
