Beth Hofgesang, Heather Egli and Paige Lucas recently joined the Sparta Education Foundation (SEF) as board members. “We are happy to welcome Beth, Heather and Paige to the board,” said Donna West, President of the SEF. “Each of them brings new energy and fresh ideas to their Trustee position, and we are looking forward to working together to enhance our schools with new educational grants in the months and years to come.”

Beth Hofgesang is a longtime Sparta resident who is a Risk Advisor for Gallagher. Active in the community, she is a board member of the Sussex County Chamber of Commerce and past president of Sparta Music Boosters. Hofgesang has a bachelor’s degree in English from Montclair State University.

Heather Egli has been a first grade teacher for 18 years and teaches in West Milford Township Public Schools. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education from Kings College and Master of Arts degree in teaching with a focus on reading and literacy from Marygrove College. Egli has been an active volunteer in school activities and with the SEF.

Paige Lucas is a lifelong resident of Sparta and 2011 graduate of Sparta High School. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from William Paterson University and is now serving as the Media Center Assistant at Sparta High School. Lucas is also the director of the Sparta Middle School musical and choreographer for the Sparta High School musical. She has been a frequent volunteer at SEF events.

Since 2006, the Sparta Education Foundation has funded over $1,024,000 in grants to all five of Sparta’s public schools. The Foundation is an all-volunteer, independent 501 (c) (3) NJ Non-Profit Corporation whose mission is to engage the entire community in philanthropic giving.
